7-1-3: FENCE REQUIREMENTS AT EXCAVATIONS:
   A.   No person shall own, lease, operate, maintain or conduct within the town, for commercial purposes for a period of more than four (4) days, any pit, hole in the ground, pool or other excavation without first having such pit, hole in the ground, pool or other excavation securely fenced. Such fence shall be not less than five feet (5') high and constructed of woven wire at least twenty six inches (26") high with four (4) strands of wire above the woven wire equal distance apart to the top of each post with a wooden or steel guard arm one foot (1') long extending from each fence post, with one strand of wire attached to each such guard arm. The fence posts shall be at least five feet (5') above the ground, eight feet (8') apart and set at least two feet (2') in the ground, with two (2) stays of wire between each post, securely attached to the woven wire below.
   B.   In the event woven wire cannot be obtained, then such fence shall consist of wire every six inches (6") apart commencing three inches (3") above the ground and extending to the top of the fence posts with wire stays every two feet (2') between such fence posts and with a wooden or steel guard arm one foot (1') long extending from each fence post, with at least one strand of wire attached thereto.
