During the period of probation, probationary police officers of the Municipality who by training or experience are qualified for a permanent appointment as a police officer within the State of Ohio in compliance with Ohio R.C. 109.77, shall be paid at the same rate as is being paid to regular police officers of the Municipality. Any such probationary police officer becoming so qualified during the period of his probation shall be entitled to such increased compensation beginning the calendar month next following such qualification.
