153.07 OVERTIME.
   (a)    Forty hours shall be the standard work week for all employees except police officers paid at an hourly rate. No hourly employee will be compensated for time worked over forty hours in any week unless such time has been authorized by the employee's supervisory authority. When any hourly employee, except police officers, is authorized to work more than forty hours he shall be compensated for time over forty hours at one and one-half times his hourly rate, except for the following who shall be paid at the hourly rate:

   (b)    There shall be no standard work week for salaried personnel except for the Street Commissioner and the Water and Sewer Commissioner, who shall have a forty hour week. They shall be compensated for the time worked over forty hours in any week only if such time is authorized by the Mayor. Such compensation for authorized hours over forty shall be one and one-half their regular rate of pay.

   (c)    Eighty hours in a fourteen day period shall be the standard work period (except during vacation when forty hours shall be the standard work period) for members of the police force, including the Police Chief. No police force member shall be compensated for hours worked over eighty in a fourteen day period unless such work has been authorized by the employee’s supervisor. When authorized to work overtime, police force members shall be compensated for time over eighty hours (forty hours during vacation) at one and one-half times their hourly rate. (Ord. 3329.    (d)    For the purpose of computing overtime pay for all Village employees, hours in any pay period for which an employee is paid sick time, personal time, vacation time or holiday time shall be counted as hours worked. (Ord. 2006. Passed 1-29-96.)
   (e)   All police officers shall be entitled to compensation for time actually worked when he or she is required to attend any court proceedings.
