139.03 DUTIES OF THE FIRE CHIEF.
   (a)   The Fire Chief shall be present at all fires and shall have full control and management of the Fire Department. He shall investigate the causes of all fires, examine witnesses, compel their attendance at such investigation and compel the production of books and papers relating thereto.
   (b)   The Fire Chief shall keep in convenient form a complete record of all fires. Such record shall include the time of the alarm, location of the fire, cause of fire if known, type of building, name of owner and tenant, purposes for which occupied, value of building and contents, members of the department responding to the alarm and such other information as he may deem advisable or as may be required from time to time by Council or the State. After each fire, the Fire Chief shall report such information to the Clerk-Treasurer who shall report the same to Council. Such report shall be in writing.
   (c)   The Fire Chief shall make an annual survey and inspection of all buildings in the Municipality and shall report on all fire hazards to Council.
   (d)   The Fire Chief shall hold a monthly practice drill of at least one hour’s duration for the Fire Department and shall give the firemen instruction in the approved methods of fire fighting and fire prevention. (Ord. 541. Passed 5-25-43.)
   (e)   The Fire Chief may be assigned additional duties as approved by the Mayor with the advice and consent of Council.
