§ 30.01 RETAINING ORGANIZATION AND STRUCTURE OF CITY GOVERNMENT.
   (A) Pursuant to SB 41 of the 1980 Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the city hereby elects to retain the organization and structure of its city government existing on July 14, 1980, immediately before the effective date of non-emergency legislation enacted by the 1980 Regular Session of the General Assembly.
   (B) For the purposes of the organization and structure of the government of the city, those sections of the Kentucky Revised Statutes pursuant to which city government operated on July 14, 1980 which sections have been repealed effective July 15, 1980 shall continue directing and controlling the organization and structure of city government, notwithstanding their respective repeal.
   (C) Ordinances and resolutions of the city are declared to remain in force and effect, and any such ordinance citing or relying on a section of Kentucky Revised Statutes repealed by the 1980 Regular Session of the General Assembly shall be deemed to refer to the repealed statute for purposes of structure, procedure, and operation only, and not for the grant of any power or authority found in the section.
   (D) Enactment of this section is for purposes of compliance with KRS 83A.020(2), and is pursuant to KRS 82.082.
   (E) This section shall become effective on its passage and approval, and publication as required by law, but the organization and structure of city government, and ordinances and resolutions of the city, shall not change before the effective date of this section. (Ord. 200, passed 9-9-80)
