§ 71.29 REQUIRED ACTION AT YIELD SIGN.
The operator of a vehicle approaching an authorized sign bearing the word “Yield” or “Yield Right-of-Way” shall, in obedience to such sign, slow down to a speed reasonable for the existing conditions, or shall stop if necessary and shall yield the right-of-way to any pedestrian legally crossing the roadway on which such operator is driving, and to any vehicle in the intersection or approaching on another highway so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard. Said operator having so yielded may proceed and the operators of all other vehicles approaching the intersection shall yield to the vehicle so proceeding. If such driver is involved in a collision with a pedestrian or vehicle, such collision shall be deemed prima facie evidence of failure to yield.
