Except in cases where a different or additional penalty is imposed by this code or by applicable statute, every violation of any of the provisions of this code shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $500 or imprisonment in the county jail not longer than 30 days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day in which a violation of this code or other ordinance continues shall constitute a separate offense.
