§ 150.61 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   "ELECTRIC DEMAND." The amount of electricity required by the customers of the town's electric system at a given point in time.
   "ELIGIBLE" new or modified residential or mobile home electric services are considered to be:
      (1)   Those services that require building and/or electrical permits and/or inspections by authorized town employees for installation of or modification to new or existing HVAC systems, including all repairs, upgrades, refits, retrofits, source fuel changes; dual or multiple fuel heating and/or cooling systems including associated duct work and air supply and/or return equipment; resistance heat units, resistance water heating.
      (2)   Those services not specifically and individually issued a waiver by the Director of Public Works and Utilities (hereinafter referred to as the "Director") due to medical, health, construction, or other conditions deemed by the Director to render installation and operation of load management equipment not feasible at that location.
   "EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS." Those weather conditions resulting in electric demand on the town's electric system at, near, or exceeding the maximum expected during a specific day, month, season or point in time.
   "LOAD MANAGEMENT EQUIPMENT or DEVICE." Any equipment, wiring, remote relay or associated hardware provided by the town and/or its contractors specifically intended for controlling the operation of central electric heating and/or air conditioning systems 1.5 tons or larger and/or resistance heat units and/or electric water heaters up to and exceeding 30 gallons capacity, which allows the town the capability to temporarily disconnect such systems and/or appliances from electric service.
   "PEAK DEMAND." The amount of electricity at its highest point of demand by the customers of the town during a given billing period.
   "PEAK DEMAND CHARGES." Those premium charges associated with a period of peak demand.
