Section 4.8 PRESENT WARD BOUNDARIES CONTINUED.
   (a)   The present ward boundaries, described as set out below, shall continue until changed in accordance with the provisions of this Article:
      No. 1. BEGINNING at a point where the centerline of High Street intersects with the centerline of West Third Street (NC 102), said point being the northeast corner of Ward 5 and said point also being on the southern property line of Ward 3; thence easterly with the southern property line of Ward 3 and Ward 2 along the centerline of West Third Street (NC 102) to the centerline intersection of East Third Street (NC 102) and East Avenue; thence continuing with the southern property line of Ward 2 in a southerly direction along the centerline of East Avenue to the centerline intersection of East Avenue and Boulevard Street; thence continuing with the southern property line of Ward 2 in an easterly direction with the centerline of Boulevard Street to the town limits on the western side of Edge Road; thence leaving the southeast corner of Ward 2 in a southerly and easterly direction along the various courses and distances of the town limits to the western right-of-way line of the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad, said point being the northeast corner of Ward 5; thence continuing with the northern property line of Ward 5 and leaving the western right-of-way line of the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad in a westerly direction across an open field to the intersection of the centerline of Williams Street and New Street; thence continuing with the northern property line of Ward 5 in a westerly direction along the centerline of Williams Street approximately 150 feet to the point where Williams Street turns north; thence continuing with the northern property line of Ward 5 in a northerly direction along the centerline of Williams Street to the centerline intersection of Williams Street and Barwick Street; thence continuing with the northern property line of Ward 5 in a westerly direction along the centerline of Barwick Street crossing Lee Street (SR 1149) to the centerline intersection of Barwick Street and High Street; thence continuing with the northern property line of Ward 5 in a northerly direction along the centerline of High Street to the point of BEGINNING.
      No. 2. BEGINNING at a point where the centerline of Pitt Street intersects with the centerline of West Third Street (NC 102), said point being the southeast corner of Ward 3 and on the northern property line of Ward l; thence in a northerly direction along the centerline of Pitt Street, said centerline being the eastern property line of Ward 3 to the intersection of the centerline of Pitt Street and Power Street; thence continuing along the eastern property line of Ward 3 in an easterly direction along the centerline of Power Street to the centerline intersection of Power Street and Lee Street (SR 1149); thence continuing with the eastern property line of Ward 3 in a northerly direction along the centerline of Lee Street (SR 1149) crossing Hines Drive (SR 1122) to the town limits; thence leaving the eastern property line of Ward 3 in an easterly and southerly direction with the various courses and distances of the town limits to the intersection of the town limits at the centerline of Boulevard Street, said point being the northeast corner of Ward l; thence continuing with the northern property line of Ward 1 along the centerline of Boulevard Street in a westerly direction to the intersection of Boulevard Street and East Avenue; thence continuing with the northern property line of Ward l, along the centerline of East Avenue in a northerly direction to the centerline intersection of East Avenue and East Third Street (NC 102); thence continuing with the northern property line of Ward 1 in a westerly direction along the centerline of Third Street to the point of BEGINNING.
      No. 3. BEGINNING at a point where the centerline of Third Street (NC 102) intersects with the centerline of Pitt Street, said point being the southwest corner of Ward 2 and also the northern property line of Ward l; thence from said point of beginning in a westerly direction along the northern property line of Wards l, 5 and 4 along the centerline of Third Street (NC 102) to the point where the centerline of Third Street (NC 102) intersects with the southerly projection of the western right-of-way of SR 1120; thence leaving the northern property line of Ward 4 and leaving the centerline of Third Street (NC 102) in a northerly direction to the intersection of the northern right-of- way of Third Street (NC 102) and the western right-of-way of SR 1120, said intersection also being the town limits; thence continuing in a northerly and easterly direction along the various courses and distances of the town limits to the point where the town limits intersect with the centerline of Lee Street (SR 1149), said point also being the northwest corner of Ward 2, thence along the western property line of Ward 2 in a southerly direction along the centerline of Lee Street (SR 1149) to the centerline intersection of Lee Street (SR 1149) and Power Street; thence continuing with the western property line of Ward 2 in a westerly direction along the centerline of Power Street to the centerline intersection of Power Street and Pitt Street; thence continuing along the western property line of Ward 2 in a southerly direction along the centerline of Pitt Street to the point of BEGINNING.
      No. 4. BEGINNING at a point where the centerline of Third Street (NC 102) intersects with the centerline of Snow Hill Street, said point of beginning being on the southern property line of Ward 3 and being the northwest corner of Ward 5; thence leaving the point of beginning along the northwest property line of Ward 5 in a southerly and westerly direction along the centerline of Snow Hill Street to the intersection of the centerline of Snow Hill Street and the eastern right-of-way of NC 11, said point being located on the town limits; thence in a northerly direction along the various courses and distances of the town limits to the intersection of the northern right-of-way of West Third Street (NC 102) with the western right-of-way of SR 1120, said point being on the western property line of Ward 3; thence leaving the town limits in a southerly direction along the projection of the western right-of-way line of SR 1120 to the intersection of the projection right-of-way line of SR 1120 with the centerline of West Third Street (NC 102), said point being the southeast corner of Ward 3; thence along the southern property line of Ward 3 in a southeasterly direction along the centerline of West Third Street (NC 102) to the point of BEGINNING.
      No. 5. BEGINNING at a point where the centerline of West Third Street (NC 102) intersects with the centerline of Snow Hill Street, said point being the northeast corner of Ward 4 and said point also being on the southern property line of Ward 3; thence from said point of beginning along the southern property line of Ward 3 in an easterly direction along the centerline of West Third Street (NC 102) to the centerline intersection of West Third Street and High Street, said point being the northwest corner of Ward l; thence along the western property line of Ward 1 in a southerly direction along the centerline of High Street to the centerline intersection of High Street and Barwick Street; thence continuing along the southern property line of Ward 1 in an easterly direction along the centerline of Barwick Street crossing Lee Street (SR 1149) to the centerline intersection of Barwick Street and Williams Street; thence continuing along the southern property line of Ward 1 in a southerly direction along the centerline of Williams Street to the point where Williams Street turns easterly; thence continuing with the southern property line of Ward 1 and the centerline of Williams Street, approximately 150 feet, to the centerline intersection of Williams Street and New Street; thence continuing with the southern property line of Ward 1 in an easterly direction across an open field to the point where the town limits intersect with the western right-of-way of the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad; thence leaving the property line of Ward 1 in a southerly and westerly direction along the various courses and distances of the town limits to the point where the town limits intersect with the southern right-of-way of Snow Hill Street; thence leaving the town limits and the southern right-of-way of Snow Hill Street in a northerly direction to the centerline of Snow Hill Street, said point being on the southern property line of Ward 4; thence continuing with the southeast property line of Ward 4 in an easterly and northerly direction along the centerline of Snow Hill Street to the point of BEGINNING.
   (b)   From and after September 10, 1981, the above ward boundaries shall be effective and continue until changed in accordance with this Article.
