§ 6.31 SHOWS.
   Subd. 1. License required. It is unlawful for any person to present any public show, movie, caravan, circus, carnival, theatrical or other performance or exhibition without first having obtained a license therefor from the city.
   Subd. 2. Exceptions. The following performances are exempt from payment of a license fee, provided, however, that the exemption shall not extend to any regulation or act declared unlawful in this section:
      A. Performances presented in the local schools and colleges, under the sponsorship of such schools and colleges, and primarily for the students thereof only;
      B. Performance of athletic, musical or theatrical events sponsored by local schools or colleges using student talent only; and
      C. Any performance or event in, or sponsored by, bona fide local church and non-profit organizations, the Mower County Agricultural Association, the City Park and Recreation Department or performances held at Riverside Arena and approved by the Arena manager.
   Subd. 3. Suitability of premises. Before issuing a license under this section, the Chief of the Fire Department shall make an inspection of the premises proposed to be licensed and certify that the same comply with the Minnesota Fire Code.
