The connection of the building sewer into the public sewer shall be made by the city at the “Y” branch designated for that property, if such a branch is available at a suitable location. If the public sewer is 12 inches in diameter or less and no properly located UV branch is available, the city shall install a “Y” branch in the public sewer or make the connection with a saddle of approved type at a location approved by the Wastewater Superintendent. Where the public sewer is greater than 12 inches and no properly located “Y” branch is available, the city shall make the connection with a saddle specially designed for this application. All connections methods shall be approved by the Wastewater Superintendent. Manholes shall be constructed at any junction of an eight-inch diameter or larger sewer into a public sewer.
