139.02 LIEUTENANT.

There is hereby established the position of Lieutenant, which position shall be filled by appointment by the Mayor with the approval of Council, which appointee shall continue in office until removed therefrom for the causes and under the powers and procedures provided by law. The position of Lieutenant shall be in the classified civil service of the City, irrespective of whether or not the person occupying that position is deemed to be the assistant department head of the Police Department.
