955.31 CITY ARBORIST.

The Mayor shall appoint the City Arborist, who shall be certified by the International Society of Arboriculture. The City Arborist shall be appointed at the beginning of each Mayor's term. The Mayor's appointment of the City Arborist shall be effective unless rejected, by not later than the next regularly scheduled Council meeting after the appointment is announced, by more than two-thirds (2/3rds) of the members elected to Council. The City Arborist may be removed from office by the Mayor. The Mayor's removal of the City Arborist shall be effective unless rejected, by not later than the next regularly scheduled Council meeting after the removal is announced, by more than two-thirds (2/3rds) of the members elected to Council. At any time there is no City Arborist serving the City, the Tree Commission may act in place of the City Arborist in reviewing, granting or denying the consents and/or the approvals required of the City Arborist under this Chapter 955.
