955.03 CREATION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF A TREE COMMISSION.
   (a)   There is hereby created and established a Tree Commission for the City of Aurora. This Commission shall be composed of one (1) member of Council and six (6) citizens, all of whom shall be residents of the City. The member of Council shall be elected by Council. The Mayor shall appoint all of the citizen members who shall serve for the overlapping four (4) year terms, with two (2) citizen members' terms expiring each year at the end of the calendar year. The City Arborist shall be an ex-officio member. Any member may resign at any time upon written notice to the Mayor. Except for any such resignation, each member of the Commission shall serve until his/her successor has been appointed or elected.
   (b)   Within thirty days following the expiration of the term of any appointed Tree Commissioner, a successor shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of Council, and the successor shall serve a term of four years. Successive terms shall be permitted, but in no case shall any member serve more than a four year term without re-appointment and re-confirmation by Council. A vacancy occurring during the term of any member of the Tree Commission shall be filled for the unexpired term in the manner authorized for an original appointment. A member may be removed by the Mayor with the approval of Council.
