1305.06 NOTICE OF VIOLATIONS; ADJUDICATION OR STOP WORK ORDER.

(a) The building official is authorized to serve a notice of violation or order on the person responsible for the erection, construction, alteration, extension, repair, moving, removal, demolition or occupancy of a building or structure. This notice shall comply with the requirements of Section 113.2 of the Ohio Building Code.

(b) Prior to the enforcement of this chapter by any civil or criminal remedy, the building official shall issue an adjudication order or stop work order. Adjudication orders shall comply with Section 113.1 of the Ohio Building Code. Stop work orders shall comply with Section 114 of the Ohio Building Code. Failure to cease work after the issuance of an adjudication order or a stop work order is a violation of this chapter and is hereby declared a public nuisance pending completion of appeal under ORC 3781.19 and Ohio Building Code Section 112.
