937.03 HANDLING OF REPLACEMENT REQUESTS.
   In the event that the City receives any requests for mailbox replacement due to snow plowing damage or destruction, the City, in its sole discretion, shall determine whether City operations caused the circumstances which necessitate replacement of the mailbox. In the event that repair and/or replacement is determined necessary by the City, it shall be limited to a standard metal mailbox and a simple 4 x 4 post. The “Step 2" or “Rubbermaid” mailboxes will be replaced on a “like for like” basis. Any “designer” or “decorator” type mailboxes shall be the responsibility of the resident/owner to replace. In the event that the resident replaces a mailbox in a circumstance in which the City acknowledges that the damage was a result of City activity, the reimbursement shall not exceed either actual costs or sixty dollars ($60.00), whichever is less. The resident shall be responsible for demonstrating the costs of replacement to the City’s satisfaction.
