A city of the first or second class may enter into a contract or contracts to sell electric, water or sewer service to persons beyond the corporate limits of the city when, in the judgment of the Mayor and Council of the city not having a Board of Public Works or of its Board of Public Works in the city having a Board, it is beneficial to any city to do so. No contract shall run for a period in excess of 25 years. A city is hereby authorized and empowered to enter into contracts for the furnishing of electric service to persons, firms, associations and corporations beyond the corporate limits of the city.

(A) In accordance with the statutes of the State of Nebraska, including Neb. RS 17-505, any person who shall violate or refuse to comply with the enforcement of any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more than $500 for any one offense, recoverable with costs.
(B) A new violation shall be deemed to have been committed every 24 hours of failure to comply.
