The fire zone limits of the city shall be all that portion of the city which lies below 487 feet, mean sea level, and that portion of the city bounded on the east by the Ohio River, on the north by Hogan Creek, on the west by U.S. Highway 50 and Exporting Street and on the south by Third Street.

Any person desiring to park a trailer for office or storage use in conjunction with a construction project in the city shall procure a written permit from the city before parking such a trailer in the city. This permit may be extended or renewed for like periods only at the option of the city.

In all areas of special flood hazard as defined in Chapter 152 pertaining to flood control, where base flood elevation data has been provided, the following standards are required:
(A) Residential Construction. New construction and substantial improvement of any residential structure shall have the lowest floor, included the basement, elevated to at least two feet above the base flood elevation.
(B) Nonresidential Construction. New construction and substantial improvement of any commercial, industrial or other nonresidential structure shall either have the lowest floor, including the basement, elevated at least two feet above the base flood elevation; or, together with attended utility and sanitary facilities, shall:
(1) Be flood proofed in order to exclude flood waters from the interior or the building up to an elevation at least two feet above the base flood elevation.
(2) Have structural components capable of resisting hydrostatic and hydrodynamic loads and effects of buoyancy; and
(3) Be certified by a registered professional engineer or architect licensed to practice in Indiana; and that the standards of this subsection are satisfied. Such certification shall be provided to the officials as set forth in this section and in §§ 152.265 et seq.

If any person, firm or corporation shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter, or shall do any act prohibited herein, or shall fail to perform any duty lawfully enjoined, within the time prescribed by the Building Inspector, or shall fail, neglect or refuse to obey any lawful order given by the Building Inspector in connection with the provisions of this chapter for each such violation, failure or refusal, such person, firm or corporation shall be fined in any sum not less than $10 nor more than $100. Each day of such unlawful activity as is prohibited by the first sentence of this section shall constitute a separate offense.
