§ 100.07 REGISTRATION FEE.
   (A)   The owner of any building required to be registered under this chapter shall pay an annual registration fee to the City of Aurora upon registration.
      (1)   If the building is used or zoned for residential purposes and contains not more than three residential units, the registration fee shall be $250 per year.
      (2)   If the building is used or zoned for residential purposes and contains more than three residential units, or if it is used or zoned for any non-residential purposes, the fee shall be $500 for the first year or any part thereof, $1,000 for the second year or any part thereof, and $1,500 for the third and each subsequent year or any part thereof that the property is required to be registered pursuant to this chapter.
   (B)   The purpose of the registration fee is to reimburse the Aurora Code Enforcement Officer for the costs of monitoring the property and the additional costs of responding to emergencies and property maintenance requirements for a vacant and abandoned building. All fees collected shall be deposited into the Aurora Unsafe Building Fund. Said fees shall be divided between the city and the office of the Aurora Code Enforcement Officer in a manner that is mutually agreeable to those parties.
