§ 36.01  GENERALLY; TERM OF OFFICE.
   (A)   (1)   All city issues and offices shall be combined on the statewide primary and general election ballots whenever possible.
      (2)   The issuance of separate ballots shall be avoided in a statewide election if city offices or issues can reasonably be combined with the nonpartisan ballot and state law does not require otherwise.
      (3)   All city elections involving the election of officers shall be held in accordance with the Election Act and in conjunction with the statewide primary or general election.
   (B)   When the city holds an election in conjunction with the statewide primary or general election, the election shall be held as provided in the Election Act. Any other election held by the city shall be held as provided in the Election Act unless otherwise provided by the city’s Charter, code or bylaws.
   (C)   All elected officers of the city shall serve a term of four years and until their successors are elected and have qualified.
