The speed limits for vehicles on public streets, alleys, and public ways located in the town and identified herein shall be as listed in Schedule I of the code. No person shall drive a vehicle at a speed greater than is posted or listed in Schedule I upon or along the streets, alleys, and rights-of-way listed therein. The traffic engineer shall cause signs to be posted in appropriate places on the streets, alleys, and public ways affected.
