It shall be unlawful for any person, persons, firm, or corporation to operate a bicycle along or over any sidewalk, except crossing the same at driveways or other places where so required to enter any premises, except as hereinafter provided, but shall be operated on the public streets and subject to all the traffic laws and ordinances as they shall pertain to other vehicles using the public street.
