§ 1420.02 ADMINISTRATION; INTERPRETATION; PURPOSE; CONFLICTS.
   (a)   Scope. This chapter is intended to supplement the regulations provided by the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (“PaUCC”), current edition, by providing for all matters affecting or relating to the construction, alteration, repair, removal, demolition, equipment, use and occupancy, location and maintenance of buildings and structures erected or to be erected in the township.
   (b)   Intent. This chapter is hereby declared to be remedial and shall be construed to secure the beneficial interest and purposes thereof, which are public safety, health and welfare.
   (c)   Conformity of new work. No building or structure shall hereafter be constructed, altered, repaired or removed otherwise than in conformity with this chapter.
   (d)   Use and maintenance. No person shall maintain, occupy or use a building or structure or part thereof that has been erected or altered in violation of any of the provisions of this chapter.
   (e)   Buildings affected. This chapter shall apply to any building or structure not otherwise specifically provided for by statute or ordinance.
   (f)   Interpretation; conflicts. In interpreting and applying the provisions of this chapter, it is not intended to interfere with, abrogate or annul any rule, regulation or mandate of the Board of Health of the township. To the extent a conflict exists between the PaUCC and the building code regulations set forth herein, the more strict provision shall prevail.
   (g)   Fees. All permit fees identified herein or reference in the PAUCC shall be set and amended at any time by resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners.
