For the purpose of paying the cost of providing police and fire protection, public improvements and other current operations of the City of Ashtabula, Ohio, a tax at the rate of one and eight-tenths percent (1.8%) is hereby imposed upon all Municipal Taxable Income in said City of Ashtabula, as defined in Section 718.01(A)(l) of the Revised Code of Ohio, or successor provisions. Said tax shall be effective January 1, 2016, and shall replace any prior or existing municipal income tax levy.
