(a) Before any permit for moving any structure or building is issued, it shall be approved by the Building Inspector. The Inspector shall not issue a house moving permit unless it is determined that the proposed location of the building or structure, if within the City, conforms to the City Building Code or Ohio Building Code and other applicable provisions of any other City ordinance. (b) Whenever it is deemed necessary in the public interest, the Inspector or other individual designated by the City, may require that any moving operations be conducted under the supervision of such number of policemen as may be reasonably required to help safeguard life and property during the course of the moving operation. The individual mover, company, business or corporation moving the structure or building shall pay to the City the prevailing off-duty City Police security rate and prevailing rate for the use of all necessary City or Police Department vehicles. The Inspector or other City designee may prescribe reasonable conditions, requirements, routes and precautions, the days and hours which the moving operations shall be conducted, and such other measures as may be necessary in the public interest. All moving operations hereunder shall be in conformity with this chapter. (Ord. 1998-41. Passed 4-6-98.)
