§ 34.53 PROBATIONARY APPOINTMENT.
   (A)   Each newly appointed member shall enter city service as either a police trainee or a probationary police officer and shall serve as such for the probationary period of one year, as hereinafter prescribed, with all pay, benefits and allowances pertinent thereto. The one year probationary period begins at the time the trainee is sworn in as a probationary police officer.
   (B)   Each police officer shall perform, to the best of his/her ability, all assigned duties and shall be subject to the same disciplinary measures as every other member of the Ashland Police Department, including, but not limited to, written or oral reprimand, suspension, and termination of employment as provided in § 34.58.
