§ 34.59 TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT DURING PROBATIONARY PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT.
   Following the provisions of KRS 95.450, a probationary police officer may be terminated from employment at any time during his/her first year of employment at the recommendation of the Chief of Police, with approval of the City Manager and the Board of Commissioners, for any valid reason, including, but not limited to, the following:
   (A)   Inability to perform duties in a progressive manner;
   (B)   Physical or emotional incapacity;
   (C)   Inability to assimilate education and training;
   (D)   Conduct unbecoming an officer;
   (E)   Public drunkenness, on or off duty;
   (F)   Improper or illegal use of vehicle and equipment;
   (G)   Consorting or associating with known criminals, except in line of duty;
   (H)   Insubordination;
   (I)   Negligence or incompetence;
   (J)   Any reason which demonstrates member's undesirable character or lack of integrity;
   (K)   Any other reason which reflects negatively or with dishonor on the City of Ashland or its Department of Police; or
   (L)   Failure to satisfactorily complete the Field Training Program after any remedial training or extra training.
