(A) The Planning Commission will check the preliminary plat as to its conformity with the major street plan, the school plan, the park and playground plan, and other adopted parts of the master plan, and the principles, standards, and requirements set forth in this chapter. Copies of the preliminary plat will be referred by the Commission to the Director of Public Works, for checking of matters within his jurisdiction and approval of the construction plans of improvements proposed to be installed. The plat shall be referred by the Director of Public Works to any other officials having jurisdiction of matters not directly within the jurisdiction of the Director.
(B) The Planning Commission, upon receipt from the Director of Public Works of the recommendations and advice concerning matters indicated in division (A) above, will tentatively approve or disapprove the plat, or approve it with modifications. If approved, the Commission will authorize the subdivider to proceed with the proposed improvements in accordance with general standards established by the Board of Commissioners. The Planning Commission then will note on the plat any changes that are required, and will return one copy of the plat to the subdivider with the date of the tentative approval or disapproval endorsed thereon. A similar copy also will be transmitted by the Commission to the Director of Public Works.
