§ 10.19 ORDINANCES CONSISTENT WITH STATE LAW, EACH OTHER; ORIGINAL ORDINANCE PREVAILS IN CASE OF CONFLICT.
The requirements contained in KRS 83A.060 are that the ordinances of the city be consistent with state law and with one another and that the city's ordinances and code of ordinances shall be revised when necessary to eliminate redundant, obsolete, inconsistent, and invalid provisions. However, should a discrepancy, conflict, or inconsistency arise between the code of ordinances and an ordinance as a result of an error or omission in the codification process, the original ordinance shall prevail and constitute the better source and contain controlling language.
