941.10 GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR PUBLIC DOG PARKS.
   (a)   No animals other than dogs are permitted in any dog park hereby established. Dog parks are designated for the use of people and their dogs. No other animals are allowed.
   (b)   No dogs less than four (4) months of age are permitted in a public dog park.
   (c)   Children under twelve (12) must be closely supervised at all times by an adult. It is strongly urged that young children not be brought to a public dog park for their safety.
   (d)   No food or treats (human or dog), alcoholic beverages, strollers, bicycles, or toys (human or dog) allowed in a public dog park.
   (e)   Not more than three (3) beings per handler allowed (dogs and/or small children).
   (f)   Dog waste must be cleaned up by dog owners and placed in proper receptacles.
   (g)   All dogs must be legally licensed and vaccinated and shall wear a visible dog license and identification.
   (h)   Dog owners must be within any public dog park and within view and voice control of their dog at all times.
   (i)   Aggressive dogs are prohibited from a public dog park and dogs deemed dangerous or vicious, by the Dog Warden or by the Ohio Revised Code, are prohibited from a public dog park. Aggression is defined as hostile or destructive behavior.
   (j)   Dogs must be under control by their owners/handlers at all times outside of the fenced dog park in accordance with Section 505.01.
   (k)   Owners/handlers must stop their dogs from digging and immediately fill any holes dug.
   (l)   Dog owners are solely liable for injuries or damage caused by their dog and ensuring that their dogs do not escape the fenced area.
   (m)   First time dog park users should consider visiting a public dog park during non-peak times.
   (n)   Smoking is prohibited within any public dog park.
   (o)   All public dog parks close 30 minutes after dusk.
   (p)   No attendants are on duty. Users of public dog parks use the same at their own risk. The City of Ashland Department of Parks and Recreation shall not be liable for injuries to dogs, their owners/handlers, or others that use the public dog park. Dog parks are for dogs and their owners/handlers only. The owner is 100% responsible for any injuries inflicted by their dog. Dog parks users agree to hold the City of Ashland harmless for any liability resulting from their dog’s behavior. (Ord. 88-18. Passed 11-20-18.)
