921.04 OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF PRIVATE SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS.
   (a)    The owner of a private sewage disposal system shall, at his own expense, construct, operate and maintain said private sewage disposal systems in a sanitary manner at all times, to the satisfaction of the City, the City/County Health Department and the OEPA.
   (b)    At such times as a public sanitary sewer becomes available to a premises served by a private sewage disposal system, a direct connection shall be made thereto by the owner at his expense within six (6) months in compliance with all applicable regulations, unless granted special permission as provided by Section 921.03. Any septic tanks, cesspools and similar private sewage system shall be properly abandoned to the complete satisfaction of the City, City/County Health Department and the OEPA.
 
   (c)    All sewers connecting a private system to a public sewer shall be constructed, reconstructed, operated, cleaned and maintained entirely by the owner of the private system at no expense to the City. The City shall not reimburse the owner for any work performed on a private system even if it is within a public right-of-way. (Ord. 70-07. Passed 10-2-07.)
