§ 50.096 SEPTIC TANKS IN LIEU OF SEWER CONNECTIONS.
Septic tanks will be permitted for a period of ten years after a public sewer becomes available, or when a city sewer line, as measured from the margin of the public street right-of-way or permanent sanitary sewer easement within which the city sewer line is located, is not accessible within 200 feet of the improvements to be served by the sanitary sewer system, or it is not practical to install a gravity sewer service line. If at anytime the health officer shall certify that, in his opinion, such septic tank facilities create a hazard to the health and welfare of any of the citizens of the city, the owner of such property shall, within a period of 120 days after notice from the city, discontinue the use of such septic tank facilities and shall connect the wastewater lines from the improvements on such properties to the sanitary sewer system of the city.
