A. To service the health, safety, and general welfare of the citizens of the city of Artesia by ensuring proper planning practices.
B. To provide protection and preservation of natural resources, and to provide for adequate air circulation, lighting, public open spaces, utility services, traffic movement, drainage and public facilities.
C. To establish standards and procedures that protect the common interests of the general public, landowners, developers, neighborhoods, and subdividers of the city of Artesia and its surrounding jurisdiction.
D. To establish adequate and accurate records of land subdivisions.
E. To ensure orderly growth and development, and to supplement and facilitate the provisions in the Artesia comprehensive plan, zoning regulations, and capital improvements program. (Ord. 982, 11-10-2015)
