8-1-12: VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES:
   A.   Violation Of Codes: It shall be unlawful and a violation of this title for any person, firm, corporation or other entity to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, convert or demolish, or to equip, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure or building service equipment in the City of Artesia, or to cause or permit the same to be done, contrary to or in violation of any of the provisions of this title.
   B.   Actions For Violation: Any building official, Code Enforcement Officer, or other designated enforcement employee of the City of Artesia may, for any violation of this title, take any one or more of the following actions:
      1.   Stop inspections, and/or revoke any or all permits issued to the owner or contractor for the project until each such violation be corrected.
      2.   Impose double the usual amount of permit fee(s) if work be commenced without first having a valid issued permit.
      3.   Impose a reinspection fee for any repeat inspection performed after any violation is corrected.
      4.   Refuse to authorize installation of gas, electric, water service, or other utility service until the violation be corrected.
      5.   Cause gas, electric or water service to be removed from the premises until the violation be corrected.
      6.   Cause a certificate of occupancy to not be issued or, if issued, to be withdrawn.
      7.   Issue a Municipal citation as provided in title 1, chapter 4 of this Code.
Any violation of this title shall be considered a separate offense for each and every day which such violation is committed, continued, permitted, or otherwise not corrected. (Ord. 911, 2-12-2013)
