6-5-1: LEASE OF AIRPLANE HANGAR:
   A.   Application For Lease; Hangar Space Assigned: Any person desiring to enter into a lease agreement for the placement of an airplane hangar at the Artesia municipal airport shall make application to the airport manager specifying the space needed, the proposed plans for construction, and the duration and lease terms desired. The airport manager shall tentatively assign hangar space to the applicant within the area designated on the airport master plan for such purpose. The application shall then be presented to the city council for consideration and negotiation of an appropriate lease agreement. (1996 Code § 2.44.010; amd. 2002 Code)
   B.   Construction Of Hangar: Upon approval of a lease agreement, the applicant may commence construction; however, any hangar constructed shall be built and continuously maintained in accordance with design plans and standards approved by the city council and in compliance with all applicable building codes and federal, state and local laws and regulations.
   C.   Airport Rental Contracts: With the prior consent of the city council and subject to such terms and regulations as the city council may impose, persons having airport rental contracts, may, as a use incident to the storage of aircraft and aircraft accessories, utilize the leased premises for: 1) the storage of other personal properties of the lessee; 2) conduct business operations for others; and 3) the placement of gasoline and fuel storage tanks.
