6-4-6: APPROVAL OR DENIAL OF PERMIT; ISSUANCE:
   A.   Notice Of Denial: The chief of police shall act upon the application for a parade permit within forty eight (48) hours after the filing thereof. If the chief of police disapproves the application, he shall mail to the applicant immediately a notice of his actions stating the reasons for his denial of a parade permit.    B.   Alternate Permit: The chief of police, in denying an application for a parade permit, shall be empowered to authorize the conduct of a parade on a date, at a time or over a route different from that named by the applicant. An applicant desiring to accept an alternate permit shall, within five (5) days after the notice of the action of the chief of police, or within such shorter period of time as may be required on account of the alternate date designated, file a written notice of acceptance of the alternate permit with the chief of police. Any alternate parade permit shall conform to the requirements of, and have the effect of, any other parade permit under the provisions of this chapter. (1996 Code § 12.08.080)
   C.   Issuance Of Permit; Possession Required: The duplicate copy of the application for a parade permit shall, if and when approved by the chief of police, serve as the parade permit. If the chief of police approves an application, he shall mark both the original copy of the application and the duplicate copy thereof "Approved" and affix his signature to such approval. The parade chairman or other person heading or leading a parade shall carry the duplicate approved copy of the application upon his person during the conduct of the parade. (1996 Code § 12.08.090)
