It shall be unlawful to pass through the following intersections at any hour of the day or night when the light in the traffic light at said intersection shows red facing the driver or operator, except that a driver or operator may make a right-hand turn at said intersection when the light in the traffic light shows red, but only after stopping and yielding to other vehicles approaching from the left of the driver or operator.
