Within 15 clays after the town’s Utility Supervisor and/or the Town Council’s designee(s) taking action to abate a violation, the owner or party in possession of the property will be notified of the cost of abatement, including administrative costs incurred in curing the violation. The property owner may file a written protest objecting to the amount of the assessment within ten days to the Town Council. If the amount due is not paid within 30 days of the decision of the town’s Utility Supervisor and/or the Town Council’s designee(s)or by the expiration of the time in which to file an appeal, the town may file a civil action to collect said costs, plus interest and reasonable attorney’s fees.
