§ 132.06 ASSAULT AND BATTERY.
   (A)   An assault is any willful and unlawful attempt or offer with force or violence to do a corporal hurt to another.
   (B)   A battery is any willful and unlawful use of force or violence upon the person of another.
   (C)   It shall be unlawful to commit an assault or an assault and battery within the town.
   (D)   It shall be unlawful and an offense for any person, without justifiable or excusable cause, to knowingly commit any assault, battery, or assault and battery upon the person of a police officer or officer of the law while said person is performing his or her duties.
