§ 6-3-5 HEARING ON DISPOSITION OF ABUSED AND VICIOUS ANIMALS.
   An Enforcement Officer who has impounded an animal pursuant to this article, on a showing of probable cause that the animal has been cruelly mistreated or cruelly neglected, or that the animal is vicious or may be a danger to the safety of any person or other animal, may request, through the City Attorney’s office, a disposition hearing before the city magistrate to determine whether the animal has suffered cruel mistreatment or cruel neglect as defined in A.R.S. § 13-2910, or is vicious as defined in A.J.C.C., Vol. I, § 6-1-1. The court shall schedule the hearing within 15 business days after the request has been filed. The animal will be held by the Animal Control Division or its designee until the matter has been fully adjudicated by the municipal court, and all appellate time periods have expired.
