No building permit shall be issued pursuant to this chapter unless the Building Official or his designee determines that the application complies not only with the structural requirements of the California Building Code, but with other pertinent laws and ordinances of the city or any other governmental body having jurisdiction within the city. Nothing stated in this section shall create any liability of the city or its officers to any person or other governmental authority for failure to observe such laws or ordinances.
