(a) Head of Executive Office. The head of the Executive Office is the Chief of Staff who is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the County Executive. The Chief of Staff reports directly to the County Executive.
(b) Duties. The Chief of Staff shall assist the County Executive in formulating policy, coordinate matters between the County Executive and the County Council, manage special projects as assigned by the County Executive, and exercise other authority and perform other duties, responsibilities, and functions as determined by the County Executive. The County Executive may assign to the Chief of Staff any or all of the authority, duties, responsibilities, and functions prescribed in the Charter for the Secretary to the County Executive and supervisory authority over Executive Branch offices, departments, and units not assigned to the Chief Administrative Officer.
