This article shall be construed and applied to promote its purposes as set forth in this article. Unless displaced by the particular provisions of this article, the principles of law and equity, including the State Uniform Commercial Code, the law merchant, and law relative to capacity to contract, agency, fraud, misrepresentation, duress, coercion, mistake, and bankruptcy, shall supplement the provisions of this article.
