(a) Generally. Unless otherwise designated by a DROP participant, a DROP participant's beneficiary, for purposes of this subtitle, is the surviving spouse of the DROP participant; if there is no surviving spouse, the surviving unmarried minor children of the participant; or if there is no surviving spouse or surviving unmarried minor children, the estate of the participant.
(b) Designating other beneficiaries. A DROP participant may designate other beneficiaries on the form required by the Personnel Officer.
