(a) Active employee. A DROP participant is an active employee of the County and, except as provided in this subtitle, is entitled to the benefits of that employment and is subject to the laws, regulations, and policies governing that employment.
(b) Fire Service Retirement Plan, Police Service Retirement Plan or Detention Officers' and Deputy Sheriffs' Retirement Plan. A DROP participant is a participant in the Fire Service Retirement Plan, the Police Service Retirement Plan, or the Detention Officers' and Deputy Sheriffs' Retirement Plan under the conditions described in the respective plan, except that a DROP participant is not required to make the employee contributions required under § 5-4-103(b), § 5-5-103(b), or § 5-6-103(b) during the DROP participation period.
