The Board is hereby charged with the following responsibilities. The Board shall:
(a) Conduct and annually review and revise a self-evaluation of the City’s level of compliance with the Act.
(b) Develop and annually review and revise a written ADA Compliance Plan that identifies areas of non-compliance and makes suggestions for remedial actions. This plan shall include suggestions in priority order and be submitted annually to City Council for review, concurrence and adoption.
(c) As necessary and appropriate, serve in a consulting and advisory role to the ADA Coordinator for the City of Amherst.
(d) Review all plans for public construction projects initiated by the City and make any appropriate recommendations for compliance with the ADA Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG).
(e) As requested, consult with private businesses on issues related to compliance with the Act.
(f) Maintain minutes of all meetings of the Board as a public record and file said minutes with the Office of the Clerk of Council.
