1127.01 ESTABLISHMENT AND PURPOSE OF DISTRICTS.
   In order to classify, regulate and restrict the location of trades, industries, residences and other land uses and the height of buildings designed for special uses, to regulate and limit the height, bulk, number of stories and size of buildings and other structures hereafter erected or altered, to regulate the percentage of lot area which may be occupied, building lines, size of yards, courts and open spaces and the density of population, the City is hereby divided into eight classes of districts. All such regulations are uniform for each class or kind of building or structure or use throughout each class of districts and shall be known as: R-1 Single-Family Residence District; R-2 Two-Family Residence District; R-3 Multiple-Family Residence District; C-1 Commercial or Local Business District; C-2 Commercial or General Business District; C-3 Motor Service District and I-1 Industrial District.
   The districts and their boundary lines are indicated upon the Zoning Map of the City. Such Map, together with all notations and all other references thereon, are hereby made a part of this Zoning Code.
   Whenever any street or public way is vacated by official action of Council, the district adjoining each side of the street or way shall be automatically extended to the center of such vacation and all areas included in the vacation shall thereafter be subject to all regulations of the extended districts.
