§ 36.05 OVERTIME WORK.
   (A)   Except for the hours of work of the Chief of Police which shall be at his discretion, the work schedule of all members of the Police Department shall be based on 40 hours during each consecutive seven-day period so scheduled by the Chief of Police as to the consecutive number of work days and designated days off to afford total 24-hour police and fire service.
   (B)   Any police officer or police dispatcher, with the approval of the Chief of Police, who works in excess of his regularly assigned work schedule shall be compensated for such additional work at one and one-half times his regular hourly rate, except, however, if requested by the police officer or dispatcher and authorized by the Chief of Police, the officer or dispatcher may be given compensatory time off in lieu of such monetary compensation at the same rate, provided, however, no police officer or dispatcher may accumulate unused compensatory time off in excess of 60 hours.
   (C)   Police officers shall be compensated for three hours at one and one-half times their hourly rate for appearances at sessions of Mayor's Court and for four hours at one and one-half times their hourly rate for appearances at any other court or grand jury.
