(a) Residential Customers: Residential Customers are customers of the city whose electricity purchased is consumed for family, personal or household use. The rates to be paid by Residential Customers are:
(1) Monthly Minimum Charge: A monthly minimum charge of $8.00 per month will be charged for each customer, so long as the meter is in place and electrical service is available for usage at that location, regardless of whether any electricity is consumed.
(2) Consumption Charge: In addition to the monthly minimum charge, the city shall charge for electricity consumed or used by customers of the city within the corporate limits on a monthly consumption and billing basis, per kilowatt hour (KWH), at a rate that is $0,045 per KWH more than the running annual average cost of electricity charged to the city by its supplier.
(3) Electricity Purchased From Customer:
(A) Non-Renewable Sources: Customers who occasionally generate from nonrenewable sources, more electricity than they consume, may sell their excess electricity to the city. Such electricity will be measured with bi-directional meters supplied by the city. The city will pay customer for such electricity, an amount per KWH that is equal to 100% of the city's wholesale supply monthly average cost of energy per KWH, but excluding any costs for delivery, capacity or other non-energy component of cost.
(B) Renewable Sources: Customers who occasionally generate from renewable sources, more electricity than they consume, may sell their excess electricity to the city. Such electricity will be measured with bi-directional meters supplied by the city. The city will pay customer for such electricity, an amount per KWH that is equal to 150% of the city's wholesale supply monthly average cost of energy per KWH, but excluding any costs for delivery, capacity or other non-energy component of cost.
(b) Commercial Customers: Commercial Customers are customers of the city who are primarily engaged in wholesale or retail trade, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, transportation, communication, sanitation services, finance, insurance, real estate, personal services, governmental services or any other form of business that does not fall directly within one of the other classifications of this subsection and whose Full-Time Employees (FTE) or the equivalent of Full-Time Employees is less than 125. The rates to be paid by Commercial Customers are:
(1) Monthly Minimum Charge: A monthly minimum charge of $10.00 per month will be charged for each customer, so long as the meter is in place and electrical service is available for usage at that location, regardless of whether any electricity is consumed.
(2) Consumption Charge: In addition to the monthly minimum charge, the city shall charge for electricity consumed or used by customers of the city within the corporate limits on a monthly consumption and billing basis, per kilowatt hour (KWH), at a rate that is $0,045 per KWH more than the running annual average cost of electricity charged to the city by its supplier.
(3) Electricity Purchased From Customer:
(A) Non-Renewable Sources: Customers who occasionally generate from nonrenewable sources, more electricity than they consume, may sell their excess electricity to the city. (c) Industrial Customers: Industrial Customers are any city customers that use in excess or 48,000 KWH per month and that employ 125 or more employees.
(1) Monthly Minimum Charge: A monthly minimum charge of $25.00 per month will be charged for each customer, so long as the meter is in place and electrical service is available for usage at that location, regardless of whether any electricity is consumed.
(2) Consumption Charge: In addition to the monthly minimum charge, the city shall charge for electricity consumed or used by customers of the city within the corporate limits on a monthly consumption and billing basis, per kilowatt hour (KWH), at a rate that is $0,025 per KWH more than the running annual average cost of electricity charged to the city by its supplier.
(3). Electricity Purchased From Customer:
(A) Non-Renewable Sources: Customers who occasionally generate from nonrenewable sources, more electricity than they consume, may sell their excess electricity to the city. Such electricity will be measured with bi-directional meters supplied by the city. The city will pay customer for such electricity, an amount per KWH that is equal to 100% of the city's wholesale supply monthly average cost of energy per KWH, but excluding any costs for delivery, capacity or other non-energy component of cost.
(B) Renewable Sources: Customers who occasionally generate from renewable sources, more electricity than they consume, may sell their excess electricity to the city. Such electricity will be measured with bi-directional meters supplied by the city. The city will pay customer for such electricity, an amount per KWH that is equal to 150% of the city's wholesale supply monthly average cost of energy per KWH, but excluding any costs for delivery, capacity or other non-energy component of cost.
(d) Demand Charge: In addition to the monthly minimum, consumption and other charges as indicated above, the city may assess an extra charge for high demand consumers. The city will notify consumers of high demand periods and any consumer that uses excessive electricity during these high demand periods will be charged an additional charge commensurate with that customer's usage. High demand is defined and determined by the city in its sole discretion. Consumers are encouraged and requested to avoid electricity usage at peak demand hours or to diminish their use of electricity during peak demand hours.
