Violation of any provisions of this article shall for the first conviction thereof be punished by a fine of not more than $100; for the second conviction within one year thereafter such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than $200; upon a third or subsequent conviction within one year after the first conviction such person shall be fined not to exceed $500.
